This will be our travel route:

New-Delhi to Varanasi & Sarnath

We start our journey in the capital New-Delhi. On the first day we will fly to Varanasi – the famous holy city situated along the Ganges river. In Varanasi we’ll stroll along the river banks and visit the numerous temples; some of these temples have been built hundreds of years ago, others are brand new. Here you can watch the daily routine and poojas (ceremonies) of the locals and pilgrims from all over the world. At sunrise we’ll make a boat trip on the river and watch the city wake up. A yoga class by a local teacher who runs a small studio right on the river front is also on the program.

Experience local Indian life

Apart from the highlights we’ll take you to places off the tourist track. We will visit a local neighborhood and a charity school.

From Varanasi we will make a day trip to the idyllic small town of Sarnath where Buddha is said to have reached enlightenment.

From Varanasi we fly to the Pink City Jaipur, the majestic capital of Rajasthan. Here you find the beauty of India literally on every street corner: from colorful saris and turbans to impressively decorated palaces and ancient temples. We’ll visit the City Palace and the Palace of Winds, the Hawa Mahal, where you can wander along the no less than 953 windows, balconies and hide-outs.

Astrology and astronomy have always held an important place in the history of Rajasthan. We will visit the Royal Observatory. At this astrological research center (without telescopes!) scientists have read the stars as early as the 18th century. If you are curious about your personal horoscope, you can have it read by a local astrologer.

After Jaipur we’ll move on to Jodhpur. This city truly lives up to it’s name – the Blue City. A maze of medieval streets leads you past tiny blue houses and bazaars that smell of roses and incense. We ‘ll attend a class by a well-known local yoga teacher.

Jaisalmer & Desert safari

We’ve saved the best for last on this trip. Our final stop will be the Golden City Jaisalmer. This gem is located in the middle of the beautiful Thar Desert and is known for its fairytale havelis (old mansions). The impressive sand colored fort is a city in itself. After exploring the old city we’ll take you on a camel safari and put up our camp in the desert. At sunrise you can enjoy a yoga class amidst the magical sand dunes. After our last night in Jaisalmer we will travel back to Delhi by train.

Taj Mahal

Extend your stay with a visit to the Taj Mahal (optional)
